A full re-roof on a bungalow perched on the cliffs above Newgale Sands, one of the most exposed spots on St Brides Bay. The main roof was re-covered in Cromleigh-type fibre cement slates and the flat roof rebuilt in G.R.P. fibreglass. Watch the job from deck to finished roof.
Newgale takes the full force of the Atlantic weather, so a roof here has to be done properly. We scaffolded the whole bungalow and rebuilt both roofs from the deck up.
Main roof: the hipped roof was re-covered in Cromleigh-type fibre cement slates. They give the clean, even look of slate at a lower weight and cost than natural slate.
Flat roof: we laid a new G.R.P. fibreglass roof: matting set in resin over a sound deck, with trims bonded in and a coloured topcoat. It is a seamless finish with no joints for the weather to find.

The porch roof at the Griffin Inn, Dale: rotten battens and failed slates stripped back to the rafters, re-battened and felted, then re-slated in salvaged natural Welsh slate with mitred hips and new lead flashings to the wall.
